Happy Halloween, everyone! As a long-time lover of all things terrifying, Halloween is truly one of my favorite holidays. I absolutely love all of the overpriced haunted houses that only take ten minutes to tour, the bad, B-rate horror movies on TV and of course – thane candy! And really, when else do cobwebs and rotting pumpkins count as acceptable home décor, or animal ears and a negligee serve as suitable attire? Never, I tell you!
So in the “spirit” of this bewitching day, I am dedicating this blog entry to Mark, my former client from October 2011 who hired me to design a Victorian horror-themed birthday party for his vivacious wife, Christy. With my brain stuck on bridal, I eventually came up with the concept of a Victorian wedding gone wrong, and from there, everything just converged to create a truly creepy celebration. From the green and purple uplighting to the scary group séance, the Trick or Treat candy bar and the tombstone cupcakes, guests were wowed, and Mark and Christy were over the big yellow moon. What a night!
